A.Piovan manufactures different kinds of mandrel sleeve, either in rubber or polyurethane, with one or two layers, to cover all needs in the coiler industry.

Mandrel sleeve advantages:

• Grip improvement on the coil
• Reduction of changing time of the coil even with different diametres (as a replacement of double band supports)
• Avoid marks on wrapping coil

Features

All A.Piovan mandrel sleeves have been developed with the following properties:

• Optimum chemical resistance to oil and grease
• Constancy of elastic features on expansion and contraction
• Excellent mechanical resistance
• Possibility of realizing all kinds of external grooves, inner and outer bevels

Mandrel Sleeve – Standard

• Material: Rubber (different compounds available)
• Hardness: from 50 to 80 sh A
• Most widespread solution for unwind

Mandrel Sleeve – Double layer

• Material: Rubber (different compounds available)
• Hardness: from 50 to 80 sh A
• Mainly used for rewind application, softer outside surface for a gentler action on first rewind to avoid marking sheet metal

Mandrel Sleeve – Polyurethane

• Material: Polyurethane
• Hardness: from 75 to 95 sh A
• Excellent resistance to cuts and their propagation, greater rigidity

Mandrel sleeve – Open Polyurethane

• Material: Polyurethane
• Hardness: from 75 to 95 sh A
• Excellent resistance to cuts and their propagation
• Many pieces assembled together, less total weight for hand handling (<25 Kg) 
• Greater expansion possibility with respect to the close one
